AfroSynergy uses AI to match businesses with verified partners, screen for compliance risks, and surface the right opportunities at the right time. We're looking for an AI/ML Engineer to own and improve these systems. You'll work with our triple-AI integration (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini) to build matching algorithms, recommendation engines, and automated compliance screening tools that operate across 25 African markets. What you'll do: - Design and improve our partner matching and opportunity recommendation algorithms - Build and fine-tune models for AML screening, risk scoring, and fraud detection - Develop AI-powered features like smart deal templates and document analysis - Create evaluation frameworks to measure matching quality and recommendation relevance - Integrate with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) for intelligent automation - Work with the compliance team to translate regulatory requirements into ML pipelines
- 3+ years of experience in ML engineering or applied AI - Strong Python and/or TypeScript skills - Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) - Understanding of recommendation systems, classification, and NLP - Experience building production ML systems (not just notebooks) - Familiarity with evaluation metrics and A/B testing - Bonus: experience with compliance/AML screening or risk scoring - Bonus: understanding of African trade, FATF guidelines, or sanctions screening - Bonus: experience with vector databases and RAG architectures
